New point of contact for employees with disabilities

inclusion

Fortunately, WU is becoming increasingly inclusive, and for some time now, efforts have been made in recruiting to attract people with disabilities to work at WU. In this context, wissBR has repeatedly emphasized to the Rectorate the need for a central contact person for employees with disabilities in order to enable them to get off to a good start and work at WU with as few barriers as possible. It is therefore all the more gratifying that sufficient funds have now been made available in the current Performance Agreement to create such a position. Jonathan Krupitza was appointed to the position at the beginning of July, and as the current multi-part information series in wu-memo shows, he is already very active and is already making his mark in making WU even more inclusive. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome him to WU and look forward to a productive collaboration. Employees with special needs related to their workplace or their work at WU, and of course their managers, can now contact Jonathan Krupitza directly (at jonathan.krupitza@wu.ac.at). However, wissBR will also continue to be available to answer questions and address concerns (available at the email address wiss.betriebsrat@wu.ac.at).

How each individual at WU can contribute to supporting barrier-free working and studying at WU is described in detail on the diversity and inclusion website. There are specific tips, for example, on how to make texts accessible, as well as information on how to obtain a certificate of disability, which then entitles you to benefits under the Disability Employment Act, particularly with regard to labour law claims.
