WU shines internationally with outstanding results in QS Business Master’s Rankings 2026

WU Vienna University of Economics and Business has received further confirmation of its high international standing.

Only days after placing 18th in the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking, WU again reports several outstanding positions in the QS Business Master’s Rankings 2026.

In the “Business Master’s Programs” category, the latest QS rankings once again confirm WU’s strong international reputation. Four of WU’s stand-alone MSc programs rank among the leading academic programs of their kind worldwide:

  • Master’s in Supply Chain Management: Ranked second out of 106 programmes, behind the French ESSEC Business School and the US's Michigan Ross School of Business, which are joint first.

  • Master’s in Marketing: Ranked 12th out of 164

  • Master’s in Management: WU’s MSc in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control ranks 17th out of 235 programs

  • Master’s in Finance: WU’s MSc in Quantitative Finance is ranked 22nd out of 248 programs

WU graduates in high demand internationally

WU’s master’s programs excel particularly in the “Employability” and “Alumni Outcome” metrics. In the “Employability” category, around 36,000 employers worldwide singled out the universities whose graduates they hold in particularly high regard. The “Alumni Outcome” category surveys which universities train executives that end up in top-level positions at the largest and most prestigious companies. In the “Thought Leadership” metric, which looks at research performance and academic reputation, WU’s master’s programs also score well above the international average.

Top international positions as a sign of high quality

The QS rankings are internationally renowned and provide valuable guidance to prospective students worldwide. This year, the number of participating universities has been expanded once again. “The excellent ranking results of our master’s programs amid such strong competition are a clear sign of the high quality that WU stands for,” says Rector Rupert Sausgruber. “Our graduates are very successful on the international job market. And the results raise the profile and reputation of our university on a global level,” he points out.
