The courses are announced in the announcement tool. In addition to the announcement itself, you additionally keep track of the entire announcement process. Please note the schedule as well as the detailed user manual (only available in german).

The electronic LV announcement consists of the following steps:

1. First check mark: Create a new course or take over courses from the previous year. In the case of a transfer, please always check the teaching shares and the specified employment relationships for correctness.

2. Second check mark: The electronic forwarding of the edited courses (by means of the AFS identifier) to the applying professor for checking the course data and approval of the lecturer.

3. Third check mark: Approval by the requesting professor (using the AFS identifier) and automatic forwarding of the courses to the head of the department.

4. Fourth check mark: Approval of the courses by the head of the department (via AFS identifier) and automatic forwarding of the courses to the person responsible for the programme unit.

5. Fifth check mark: Approval and release of the courses by the person responsible for the programme unit (via AFS identifier).

 

This completes the electronic approval process. Further processing is carried out by the teaching organisation in the course of the planning and implementation phase.

If a course has not been approved by the time it is published in the VVZ, it will not be published in the VVZ!

The course types differ primarily in the following aspects:

•     Number of student performances for the assessment

•     Compulsory student attendance

•     Extent of the attendance times to be announced

For courses of the extracurricular contingent that fulfill the conditions for assignment to the free Electives, the ECTS credits corresponding to the student's workload must be selected in addition to the corresponding chapter and the number of semester hours (according to the plan point selection) starting with the winter term 23/24.

This only applies to courses with a clear grading (1-5).

Example: For a course with 2 semester hours, an ECTS credits selection of 2, 4 or 6 ECTS credits would be possible.

Please note that at the beginning of the respective semester, all relevant information according to §76 must be known:

After the start of the semester, the specified information on form/dates/methods/assessment may only be changed for the compelling reasons listed below and decided by the Rectorate.
The students registered for the course must be informed by e-mail about changes for compelling reasons and that they can withdraw from the course without consequences due to these change(s).

UG Amendment §76 - Courses and examinations - compelling reasons (Rectorate decision):

•     unforeseeable events that make it impossible to hold the scheduled lecture (e.g. pandemic, fire on campus)

•     Illness/similar reasons beyond the control of the course instructor

•     Change of course leader

Please note that teaching assignments for employees who are covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement for university staff can only be held from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 21:00.

Courses outside these times may be held on explicit request of the lecturer. The agreed working hours and mandatory rest periods must be observed.
