New Podcast Episodes & Weekly Shorts Online!

Our students are bringing international political economy to life through podcasts and short videos.

At IPE@WU, one of the core parts of our teaching philosophy is helping students develop multiple explanations for variation in the world by identifying causal mechanisms. We bring this skill beyond the classroom by encouraging students to create competing explanations for real-world puzzles and communicate their findings through podcasts and short videos.

IPE@WU Podcast – Latest Episodes Online

The newest student episodes explore the following questions:

  • Why did Brazil respond differently to its banking crises in 1990 and 1994?

  • Why does Kenya offer stronger investor protections than Angola?

By analyzing these cases from economic, political, and institutional perspectives, students learn to think critically, compare explanations, and gain a better understanding of the forces shaping our world.
