In recognition of her important work as a role model and academic, Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger has received the “She made a difference” Award.

The award is presented by the European Women’s Management Development International Network (EWMD), an international network for women in leadership positions. Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger, the first Austrian woman to receive this award, was honored for her function as a role model and her important contributions, particularly in the field of gender and diversity research.

The “She made a difference” Award is presented every two years to honor women who have worked particularly hard in the course of their careers to promote equal opportunities for women in leadership positions. Previous award winners include former EU Commissioner Viviane Reding and Gay Haskins, Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and founding member of EWMD.

The award ceremony took place in Vienna, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the EWMD network, as part of the EWMD International Conference on the topic of “Will my doctor be an app?”
