Studying as a BeAble participant

Once you are accepted into the BeAble program, you will receive a recommendation by e-mail, in which the recommended accommocations for you are listed. You can use this recommendation letter to take advantage of the accommodations and services offered by the BeAble program.

Since your participation in the BeAble program is not centrally recorded and is not automatically communicated to your lecturers, you may want to use your recommendation letter as needed in different situations.

Want to take an exam during exam week?

You want to take an exam outside of exam week (e.g. in the context of a VUE, PI)?

Period of validity of the recommendation

The accommodation recommendations we issue are each issued for a limited period of time and may be extended after consultation.

Additional rights as a student with an impairment

Did you know that you, ...

  • you can apply for a waiver of the tuition fee for the duration of your studies or the duration of your disability if you are a regular student and meet a 50% disability rate according to federal law?
    (Note: this only applies to degree program students, except for non-EU citizens and non-EEA citizens with the residence permit "Aufenthaltsbewilligung Studierende").

  • you can apply for a waiver of the tuition fee for the semester in question or for two semesters if you are a degree program student and an illness prevents you from studying for at least two months in the respective semester?
    (Note: this only applies to degree program students, except for non-EU citizens and non-EEA citizens with the residence title "Aufenthaltsbewilligung Studierende").
