Start of the Funding Talks
On 14 May 2025, the first Funding Talks took place on the topic of career programmes for postdocs with a focus on ERC and MSCA. In this new event format of the WU Research Service Center, WU researchers with experience in third-party funding are available as peers to provide input and answer questions about third-party funding.
At the kick-off event, Stefan Giljum presented how he succeeded in acquiring an ERC Consolidator Grant. He spoke about his personal success factors and the enormous career boost that his ERC project FINEPRINT gave him. Ylva Huber from the National Contact Point European Research Council (ERC) of the FFG then gave an input on relevant funding criteria and shared exciting insights into successful applications. After an informal exchange at the buffet, Ben Greiner gave tips on submitting MSCA applications and reported on his extensive experience. Stefan Lang from the Research Service Center gave an insight into the FWF's career programmes and interested participants asked questions at the end.
The Research Service Center team would like to thank all participants and is already looking forward to the next Funding Talk with focus on Cooperative projects in Cluster 2 (Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society), Pillar II Horizon Europe on 24 June 2025.
