Austrian Sustainability Award

15/06/2022

At the Austrian Sustainability Award 2022, Ms Christina Holweg, together with Ms Eva Lienbacher and Ms Christine Vallaster from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, received the award for 2nd place in the category "Communication and Decision-Making". In the festive award ceremony in the ballroom of the Technical Museum, Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler and Science Minister Martin Polaschek honoured leading projects of Austrian universities in the field of sustainability.

The award-winning project on social markets aims to identify those regions in Austria where there is still potential for social markets on the basis of GIS data and a "white space analysis". In addition to a publication, the study results were also shared with all provincial governments and the leading social organisations in this field.

The universities of Salzburg (Eva Lienbacher project manager and Christina Vallaster), University of Chicago (Julia Koschinsky) and WU Vienna (Christina Holweg) cooperated on the project. We are all very happy about this special award!
