Information on WISEflow and Get Started Guide
First, please find all relevant information on WISEflow in the Get Started Guide.
You will receive an email from WISEflow (noreply@wiseflow.net) titled ‘Activation of user’ before Mock Exam 1 takes place. Inside this email you need to click on the link titled ‘Click here to activate your user’. Please do not send any answer or e-mail to noreply@wiseflow.net.
Your log in data:
Username: Your e-mail address
Password: Set up your password when activating your WISEflow account.
The direct address to access the WU Vienna WISEflow system is: http://at.wiseflow.net/wu. Please use this link whenever you need to log into the system.
Information on the Mock Exams
Second, take the mock exams to familiarize yourself with WISEflow and set up your computer, webcam, and microphone.
Mock Exam 1
Mock exam 1 will be accessible in WISEflow between June 10, 08:00 a.m. and June 11, 04:00 p.m. (CEST).
Mock exam 1 consists of random questions.
You can access the mock exam at any time you choose during the given period. You can enter and start mock exam 1 several times. No time limit is set for taking the mock exam. You can take as much time as you need to familiarize yourself with the online exam environment in WISEflow.
We strongly recommend to take mock exam 1 to familiarize with the online exam environment in WISEflow. Mock exam 1 will not be graded.
Mock Exam 2
Mock exam 2 will be accessible in WISEflow on June 12 from 10:00 a.m. (CEST); duration: 1 hour.
Mock Exam 2 will start in two intervals: 10:00 a.m. and 10:02 a.m. (CEST)
We will send you an e-mail beforehand to let you know what your start time is.It is essential for the identity check that you take a photo of yourself whilst holding up your official ID card at the beginning of the mock exam. Your face as well as your ID card need to be clearly visible on the photo.
Additionally, you will be asked to speak your full name out aloud for voice detection at the beginning of the mock exam.
There will be a minimum of one question per area in mock exam 2.
Mock exam 2 consists of 6 questions only.
The question type is the same as in the online entrance exam (true/false multiple-choice questions).
We strongly recommend to take mock exam 2 to familiarize with the online exam environment in WISEflow. Mock exam 2 will not be graded.
Mock exam 2 is a simulation of the entrance exam therefore, you can only enter and start it once.
In case you need support during mock exam 2, please contact us at support.bbe@wu.ac.at. Please add the email address to your contact list before mock exam 2 and use another device if you need to contact us. Please keep in mind that your computer or laptop will be locked during the mock exam, and you will not be able to contact us using your exam device. Please note that we will not answer any content-related questions.

Taking your reference image : When starting the mock exam 2, you will first be asked to take your reference image. You are required to take a photo including your official photo ID to confirm your identity. Your official ID card needs to be in Latin typeface, and ideally in English or German. We strongly recommend using your passport because it fulfills all requirements for identity check. Please find more information on taking the reference image and facial comparison in the Get Started Guide. The Get Started Guide will be available soon.
Familiarizing yourself with the online entrance exam environment. We strongly recommend to test all functions in WISEflow. Make use of the calculator, the note pad, and sticky notes in WISEflow. Use the pencil and highlight some words, too. Switch back and forth between the questions. Take your time to check out all functions in WISEflow.
Identity Control during Online Entrance Exam
It is essential for the identity control that you take a photo of yourself whilst holding up your official ID card at the beginning of the entrance exam. Your face and your ID card including your first name, last name, date of birth, and gender need to be clearly visible on one page. Please note that your official ID card needs to be in Latin typeface, and ideally in English or German. We strongly recommend using your passport because it fulfills all requirements for identity check. You may take several photos for this purpose until one meets the requirements. Log on to WISEflow on June 18 between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. (CEST) in order to carry out the necessary steps.
It is essential for identity control that you are well visible via your webcam throughout the entire entrance exam. If you are not well visible, you may run the risk of being excluded from the selection procedure. Therefore, please note the following:
Make sure you update all the relevant drivers for your webcam and microphone. Turn off the sleeping mode of your webcam.
Check if you allowed access to your webcam and microphone. This has to be done on the settings-section on your device, as well as on your internet-security program and/or firewall-settings.
Turn off the sleeping mode on your exam device (laptop or computer).
Make sure you take the entrance exam in a quiet environment and without possible external interruptions. No other person is allowed to be present for the duration of the entrance exam. If any external interruptions are captured on the photos or the voice detection taken for the identity control throughout the exam, you run the risk of being excluded from the further selection procedure.
Make sure your web camera is in a position that leaves you clearly visible throughout the entire entrance exam. This should apply even if you slightly change your (head's) position.
Do not face any (strong) light sources with your back. E.g., do not sit with a window or a strong lamp in your back. Do not directly sit under a strong lamp.
Do not wear anything that obscures or alters your face, like face masks, scarfs, hats, sunglasses etc. (Reading) glasses are permitted, as they will not interfere with the face recognition software.
Try to avoid covering your face with your hands.
Make sure your face is clearly visible, so that you can be identified easily when the webcam takes a photograph of you. Check for sufficient light in the room and, in particular, on your face. Take a few test pictures, so you can check if your face is sufficiently visible.
Do not leave your desk during the entrance exam.
Please note: If you do not comply with these guidelines and recommendations, you may be excluded from the selection procedure. You are solely responsible for meeting all (technical) requirements.
Information on the Online Entrance Exam on June 18, 2024
Organizational Information
The BBE online entrance exam will take place on June 18, 2024 via WISEflow; duration: 2.5 hours.
The BBE Online Entrance Exam will start in two intervals: 10:00 a.m. and 10:02 a.m. The exam questions are the same for both intervals, only the start time is different. We will send you an e-mail beforehand to let you know what your start time is.
The online entrance exam will be held on the above mentioned date and times only. There will be no alternative dates or times. If you do not take the entrance exam on June 18, you will automatically be excluded from the BBE selection procedure.
Please log on to WISEflow on June 18 between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. (CEST). Click on 'Start the flow', launch the Lockdown Browser, and take a photo of yourself including your official photo ID card. You will also be asked to speak your full name out aloud for voice detection. Please note that your official ID card needs to be in Latin typeface, and ideally in English or German. We strongly recommend using your passport because it fulfills all requirements for identity check.
The entrance exam will automatically open at 10:00 a.m. or 10:02 a.m. (CEST).
You will have 150 minutes to complete the exam.
Do not leave your exam device during the entrance exam. Please use the bathroom before starting the entrance exam. If you leave your exam device, facial recognition will no longer be possible, which may result in an exclusion from the selection procedure. Your face needs to be clearly visible during the entire exam time. You can find more information on facial recognition in the Get Started Guide. The Get Started Guide will be available soon.
Do not use any other items than your exam device during the exam. All functions you may need will be available in the WISEflow exam tool. Please note: Anyone caught using unauthorized aids or cheating in any way will be excluded from the selection procedure.
Your exam will be automatically submitted when your participation end time has been reached. You will be informed once the submission has been completed, and you can then return to the flow page.
Note: We do not cover or refund any expenses you may incur in connection with the selection and admission procedure.
Structure of the Exam
At the beginning of the exam, you will have to confirm the instructions and exam declaration. Click the button 'click to confirm' to confirm that you read and understood the instructions and exam declaration. If you do not confirm, your exam cannot be graded and you will be excluded from the selection procedure.
The exam consists of three areas: Mathematics, English, Business and Economics. Please find the exam material here.
Each area consists of 10 to 13 questions. You may switch back and forth between questions. You do not have to answer the questions immediately.
The exam contains multiple-choice questions with five alternative answers. For each answer alternative you have to indicate whether it is true or false. Any combination of true/false answers is possible (all true, all false, some false/some true). Do not leave an answer alternative unmarked!
Points are awarded based on a partial-credit system. This means that for each answer you mark correctly you will get 1/5 of the total points. No points are deducted for wrong answers.
(Technical) Requirements
On the day of the exam you will need:
a laptop or computer (no iPads, tablets, or smartphones!)
a stable internet connection
webcam, integrated or external
microphone, integrated or external (speakers are NOT required)
the downloaded Lockdown Browser from WISEflow (find detailed information in the Get Started Guide)
Your passport or any other official photo ID that shows your photo, first name, surname, gender, and birth date on one page. Your official ID card needs to be in Latin typeface, and ideally in English or German. Note: If you conceal your true identity by presenting a forged or altered ID, the entrance exam is null and void.

Note: You are in charge of setting up and running all (technical) requirements before and during the entrance exam.
Unauthorized Aids
Only use your computer or laptop. Any items other than your computer or laptop are not permitted during the exam.
Do not use any touch screen functions.
Do not use digital pens.
Headphones and earbuds are not permitted.
Calculators, formula sheets, notepaper, sticky notes, and pens are not permitted. All of these functions are integrated in WISEflow.
Keep your desk free from any other items. Cell phones, smartphones, (smart) watches, or similar devices are not permitted. You will see the exam time on the upper right corner in WISEflow. Only use one of the above-mentioned items if you need to get in touch with us for support during the exam.
Note: Anyone caught using unauthorized aids or cheating in any way will be expelled from the exam and excluded from the selection procedure.
Support during the Online Entrance Exam
If you need support during the exam, please contact us at support.bbe@wu.ac.at. Please add this e-mail address to your contact list before the day of the entrance exam. You may briefly use your smartphone or other electronic device to contact us. Your laptop or computer is locked by the exam sofware. However, please make sure you put the extra device away again afterwards. It must not lie on your desk during the exam. For more information, please see Unauthorized aids.
Note: We will not answer any content-related questions.
Confirmation of Participation
Do you want to receive a receipt for successfully handing in your entrance exam via e-mail on June 18? Please open the 'Participant tab' in WISEflow after handing in and scroll down to the bottom. There you will find your 'Hand in state' and the button to 'Request receipt'. Click on 'Request receipt'. Please note that it may take several minutes until the receipt is in your inbox.

Exam Results und Review Option
You will find your position in the ranking in the online registration tool as soon as possible, but latest two weeks after the exam. We will inform you by e-mail on all next steps.
You can review the exam directly and individually in WISEflow between July 8, 12:00 noon, and July 10, 12:00 noon (CEST). Please find detailed information here.
