Jules van Binsbergen is Engelbert-Dockner-Fellow at the Institute for Capital Markets Research (ISK)

We are pleased to welcome Jules von Binsbergen, who joins the ISK from June 2 to June 6, 2025 as Engelbert-Dockner Fellow.

Jules von Binsbergen is the Lauder Professor and Anthony L. Davis Director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute for Management and International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the Nippon Life Professorship in Finance at the Wharton School.

He conducts both theoretical and empirical research in finance. His current work focuses on the relationship between financial markets and the macro economy, as well as the organization, skill and performance of financial intermediaries.

He joined the Wharton School in 2014 and previously taught at the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University and at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He is a research associate at the NBER and a research fellow at the CEPR and he is a co-host of the podcast series All Else Equal: Making Better Decisions
