CFA Society Austria Prize 2023/24

On 1 March 2024, the CFA Society Austria, the association of Austrian investment analysts, awarded the "CFA Society Austria Prize" for the 16th time. The prize was awarded to bachelor's, master's or diploma theses and dissertations on the topic of "Investments, Banking and Finance".

Maximilian Lahrmann took 3rd place with his bachelor thesis on "Validity of Wikifolio Rankings" under the supervision of Ass. Prof. Dr. Michaela Nettekoven (Institute for Finance, Banking and Insurance).

The CFA Research Challenge is a competition between teams of students who research a publicly traded company, prepare a written report, and present their findings to a panel of judges.

In 2024, the team from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, led by Prof. Manfred Frühwirth (Institute for Finance, Banking and Insurance) and supervised by Michael Pirih, CFA, won the competition at the local level and will represent the CFA Society Austria at the finals at the sub-regional level.
