WWTF DORSET Project accepted

24/10/2025

We are happy to officially announce that our DORSET project has been one of the 12 projects funded as part of the WWTF ICT Call 2025! [1, 2]

The project focuses on enhancing knowledge graph embeddings -  a family of techniques that enable knowledge discovery use cases in knowledge-intensive domains such as life sciences (e.g., drug repurposing), finance (e.g., fraud detection), or engineering. In particular, it aims to explore the interdependencies between Knowledge Graph characteristics and embedding techniques. As such, the aim is to contribute both to the area of Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Graph Embeddings.

DORSET is a collaboration between WU, including SemSys members Marta Sabou, Majlinda Llugiqi and Fajar Ekaputra,  as well as a TU Wien team consisting of Emanuel Sallinger, Katja Hose, Eleonora Laurenza, Milos Jovanovik and two further PhD students. With this project, we are also excited to contribute to WU’s newly established Competence Center on Applied AI and Scientific Computing.

We look forward to four years of foundational AI research with a great team of colleagues!
