WU continues to expand partnerships in Africa

19/02/2026

In recent years, WU has been intensively engaged in its partnerships on the African continent.

In addition to existing collaborations, WU added two new universities to the portfolio in 2025: the University of Ghana and the University of Cape Coast.

Further expansion of partnerships in Africa is planned for 2026. The focus is particularly on cooperation with Makerere University in Uganda and further collaborations in southern Africa.

With these strategic activities, WU is further positioning itself as an internationally oriented university in the higher education landscape and recognizing the development potential and innovative strength that characterizes Africa.

WU is implementing these efforts in close coordination with various WU units and experts, including the International Office, the Competence Center for Emerging Markets & CEE, the Department of Business Communication, and the Dean for International Affairs.

Univ Prof Dr Jonas Puck, Dean for International Affairs, explains how the cooperation is coordinated and what impact it has on WU in an interview on the WU Blog.
