End of registration period for WU bachelor’s programs

12/05/2021

Students interested in starting a bachelor’s program in the 2021/22 winter semester or the 2022 summer semester have to register online.

May 17 marks the end of the online registration period for WU’s three bachelor’s programs: Business, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo); Business and Economics (BBE); and Business Law (WiRe). All prospective students interested in starting their bachelor’s program either in the 2021/22 winter semester or the 2022 summer semester have to register online. The BBE program can only be started in the winter semester. This also applies to high school students in their final year (no school leaving certificate is required for the online registration) and to prospective students who still need to complete their compulsory military or alternative civilian service. The deadlines are identical for all selection procedures.

In the 2021/22 academic year, 2,703 places will be available in the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences, 240 in the English-taught BBE program, and 870 in the Bachelor’s Program in Business Law. All prospective students are required to register online by May 17 and pay a registration fee of €50.

Further steps: OSA test, entrance exams

After May 17, applicants will be notified of whether a specific selection procedure will be carried out for the program of their choice. If no selection procedure is necessary, applicants can be admitted directly without any further proceedings. In the past few years, the number of applicants has always surpassed the number of available places. If this is also the case this year, applicants will have to complete an online self-assessment (OSA) test by May 31 (BBE applicants will also be required to submit a motivation statement). The OSA test is intended to give prospective students a realistic impression of the contents of the program they are interested in, and it also tests essential skills required for the program (e.g. reading comprehension in German and English). The purpose of the OSA test is to help prospective students make an informed decision when choosing a degree program. The answers are not graded and have no effect on the selection process. After May 31, all applicants will be notified of whether the last stage of the selection procedure will be held for the program of their choice. If this is the case, applicants for the Bachelor's Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences will be required to complete one or more assignments, and applicants for the Business Law program will be required to submit an essay. The period for completing these requirements will be June 3 to 25. BBE applicants will have to take an online entrance exam on July 6.
