Discontinuation of WU Printing Service for Students and Free Adobe Express Premium Licenses

The use of the printing service currently offered to students has significantly declined. However, the service continues to generate nearly constant costs for maintenance, administration, and server operations. Therefore, we regret to inform you that this service will be discontinued at the beginning of the summer semester 2026.

What does this mean for you?

Starting with the summer semester 2026, there will be no printing option via the WU printing service and no free printing credit.

Alternative Free Printing Option: You can continue to print for free via Druckster: https://www.druckster.org/print/at/register 

  • Up to 100 pages per month free of charge

  • All WU students will receive a one-time additional credit of 50 pages - Code: WUPrint2026, redeemable from March 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026

Locations:

  • Two printers available on WU Campus (ZBP Career Center in LC and ÖH WU)

  • Additional locations across Austria

Adobe Express Premium: Free for all WU students

Today, many tasks no longer require printing and can be completed entirely online. With Adobe Express Premium, you can easily edit images, videos, and PDFs and access a wide range of premium templates and assets, including over 200 million royalty-free photos, videos, and music tracks and Generative AI features for creative projects

  • All students will receive a free Adobe Express Premium license starting now.

  • Sign up directly on Adobe with your WU email address: https://www.adobe.com/express/ 

  • You will also receive a separate email from Adobe with further details in the coming days.

Why is the printing service being discontinued?

  • High costs with low usage: Operating the printing service generates disproportionately high ongoing costs compared to current usage.

  • Sustainability and environmental awareness: Less printing means reduced paper consumption, lower energy use, and less waste - helping us contribute to a more eco-friendly campus.
