Finding an accomodation is one of the most important steps of your transition to Vienna! We have collected the main options for students below.

Please note that these solutions are independent from WU. Therefore, WU do not have any influence on contracts or terms and conditions. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the contract details before choosing an accomodation.

Private accomodation

Renting an apartment is a good option if you plan to stay in Vienna long term. Please note that that most apartments come unfurnished, so you’ll need to budget for that. You should also expect to pay a deposit of two to three months' rent. Rental agreements typically last between one and five years, and usually, you won’t be able to move out until at least a year after signing the contract. If you go this route, you’ll likely need to set up contracts for energy and internet services in your name as well.
