IfSTO research project presented at Public Administration Conference 2016

17/05/2016

The IfSTO research project “Crowd Evaluation” was presented by Dr. Christian Garaus at the Public Administration Conference 2016, Austria’s largest conference on innovation in the public sector.

The project investigates how external evaluator can be used for evaluations in new product development processes. Therefore, the open4data.at Challenge 2016, which combines a crowdsourcing competition with a crowd evaluation competition, was organized in collaboration with the Federal Chancellery. This project is part of <link ifsto researchprogramopeninnovation>IfSTO Research Program on Open Innovation, which aims to enhance the understanding on how organizations may best manage the opportunities and challenges induced by open innovation with a specific focus on implications for strategy and organization design.

At the Public Administration Conference 2016 Dr. Christian Garaus presented the open4data.at Challenge 2016 together with Dr. Gregor Eibl from the Federal Chancellery during a forum on ICT (information, communication, and technology) and E-Government. Particularly the high participation in the contest and the innovative aspects such as citizen-to-citizen support and rewards to avoid strategic evaluation behavior were very well received by the audience.
