Research & Waltz 2023

16/01/2023

More than 30 researchers from WU as well as from universities in the US, Switzerland, Germany and the UK came together in Vienna to discuss ongoing research in the field of open and user innovation.

Vienna is widely known as the ‘City of Waltz’ and for its fancy balls in beautiful historical settings. Equally, the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is globally renowned as one of the leading research centers for open and user innovation (OUI). Our "Research and Waltz" conference combines debates and dancing in a single event.

On Friday, E&I director Nikolaus Franke welcomed members of our International Academic Advisory board to the campus of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Guests came from the US, UK, Switzerland... from renown universities like Imperial College London, The City University of New York, Technical University of Munich, Indiana University Bloomington and many more.We enjoyed great presentations on the role of institutions in diffusing innovations (by Christopher Tucci) and voice in entrepreneurship (by Klaus Marhold), followed by a lively panel discussion with Nik Franke, Joachim Henkel, Jeff McMullen and Frank Piller. This input kicked-off interesting debates and discussions among all participants.

On Saturday, the discussions were replaced by dancing. We enjoyed a great night at the WU Ball organized by ÖH WU in the wonderful Hofburg Vienna.

Thanks to everyone for these insightful and fun two days!
