PhD graduate Patricia Klopf nominated for AIB Best Dissertation Award 2020

Patricia Klopf, PhD graduate of the Institute for International Business at WU Vienna, was nominated as a finalist for the 2020 Peter J. Buckley and Mark Casson Academy of International Business (AIB) Dissertation Award.

Congratulations, Patricia! This nomination is a great honor!

Patricia’s award-nominated dissertation is titled “Nonmarket Strategies across Complex Institutional Contexts”. It addresses the question, “under which conditions firms use which kind of nonmarket strategy?” Her dissertation suggests that MNC subsidiaries respond distinctively to different types of institutional conditions.

AIB is the largest academic association in international business. The AIB dissertation award was designed to reward superior doctoral dissertations in the field of international business. It is a great honor for a PhD graduate in the field of international business to be nominated for the AIB dissertation award.

Patricia is now an Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands. She would like to thank her dissertation supervisor, Prof. Phillip Nell from the Institute for International Business at WU Vienna for his continued support, guidance and encouragements, as well as her dissertation committee members, Prof. Jonathan P. Doh (Villanova School of Business) and Prof. Renate Meyer (WU Vienna) for their perspectives and for not sparing efforts to support her research and academic development.
