Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Valentin is currently a Research and Teaching Associate in the Department of Global and Business and Trade and pursues a PhD at the Institute for International Business. He holds an MSc in Internationalization and Export Management from the Vienna University of Economics & Business as well as an interdisciplinary oriented BA in Corporate Management and Economics from the Zeppelin University. During his studies Valentin already gained experience in academic research working as an academic research and project assistant. He was a visiting student at the Maastricht University School of Business & Economics and gained international working experience in Johannesburg, Munich and Hamburg. In addition to his academic position he is an associate in a mergers and acquisitions consultancy firm.

Research interest

In his undergraduate research, Valentin has focused on behavioral economics in general and on leadership theories in the context of multinational corporations in particular. Today his research aims attention at corporate political and legal activities in an international business context. In his recently finished master thesis he elaborated on the performance of multinational firms in investor state dispute settlement systems.
