Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Michael joined the Institute for International Business as a research and teaching associate in September 2019. He is a CEMS graduate from Vienna University of Economics and Business and the Norwegian School of Economics. Before that, he completed his Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration at WU Vienna with a specialization in Strategic Management & Management Control and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. During his Bachelor’s degree Michael gained international experience while studying abroad at the University of Texas at Austin and during his internships when working for consulting companies such as Arthur D. Little or Simon-Kucher & Partners. During his studies Michael also lead the Austrian branch of 180 Degrees Consulting, the world’s biggest pro-bono student consultancy.

Research interests

Michael’s research interests lie in the field of international finance, strategy and government policy. His research in this area deals with institutional barriers and firm-level consequences of economic (dis-)integration.
