Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Jelena joined the Institute for International Business as a research and teaching associate in May 2022.

She graduated from the University of Trier in Germany with a master degree. After finishing the studies, Jelena worked in a Big4 audit firm in Luxembourg, and in a domiciliation agency in a Compliance field.  Jelena moved to Vienna in 2017 and for almost five years she was leading an Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Compliance Team in a bank. Additionally, she was in charge of group steering across a large international banking network.

Research interests

Jelena’s research interests lie in the field of internationalization of services and regulatory internationalization barriers.
