Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Lars joined the Institute for International Business as a research and teaching associate in June 2022. He graduated as an MSc in Internationalization and Export Management from the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. Before that, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. During his studies Lars spent two semesters abroad in Australia at the Queensland University of Technology and in Japan at the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business.

Before joining academia, Lars gained significant international and practical experience in the transport and mobility industry while working for Deutsche Bahn and ÖBB in Germany, Austria, Croatia and Saudi-Arabia.

Research interest

Lars’s research interests lie at the intersection of international management, global strategy and political science. He is particularly interested in organizational research, multinational corporations and the internationalization of firms from the service sector.
