Olga Bergmeier

Olga Bergmeier is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marketing at WU Vienna.

She holds a PhD in Information Systems with a focus on E-Commerce from the University of Passau (Germany). In her PhD thesis, she investigated the effects of recommender systems and online review platforms on online sales. During her PhD, she discovered a strong interest in the use of data science and AI methods for analysis of buying behavior and decision processes of online consumers.

While working as data scientist and customer journey manager at BSH (Bosch und Siemens Home Appliance), she had an opportunity to deepen her methodological knowledge in the field of data science and apply it in real-world business use cases.

In her research she investigates implications of the usage of AI and data analytics in online marketing. In particular, she explores how modern statistical analysis methods as well as AI technologies can be used to improve customer experiences in online sales channels.

Her research has been published in scientific journals as well as proceedings of the most important scientific conferences in the field of "Information Systems" (e.g. ICIS, WI-Tagung).
