Completing Your Studies
After you have earned all the required credits in your degree program and all the academic requirements for completion of your program are properly displayed in the LPIS system and/or on your transcript, please go to the WU online services for students to report the completion of your studies. Please note that processing your graduation documents may take up to four weeks (from the time you report the completion of your studies).
In Case of Problems
If you encounter any problems in the process of reporting the completion of your studies, please open LPIS and check if the following requirements are met:
Make sure that none of your grades are listed as preliminary on LPIS.
Make sure that you have selected only the major you have completed and that all other majors are deselected (Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences).
If you have completed the International Business Administration major, make sure that your international experience has been properly confirmed and entered into the system. If this is not the case, please contact Study Regulations & Credit Transfer
Please do not request your graduation documents for the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences until you have successfully passed all courses and exams required for all majors you intend to complete. After reporting the completion of your studies, it will not be possible for you to be readmitted to the program to complete an additional major.
As soon as your graduation documents (certificate, official notification, diploma supplement, and annexes to the diploma) are ready for pickup, you will be informed by e-mail and can book an appointment to pick up the documents at the Study Service Center. Please note the information about making an appointment.
Please bring the following when you report to collect your graduation documents:
Your WU student ID or another official photo ID
Confirmation that you have completed the UStat 2 form on time spent abroad during your studies (either in digital form or as a print-out). This form must be completed even if you did not spend any time abroad during your degree program. If you need a substitute code for filling out the form, please contact the Examinations Office.
Please fill out the WU graduate survey and print the last page of the questionnaire as confirmation that you have completed it. Bring proof of completion of the survey with you when you come to pick up your graduation documents. Alternatively, you can also present a screenshot.
You can also appoint another person to collect your graduation documents for you and submit your registration for a graduation ceremony. You will need to provide this person with a power of attorney.
After completing the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences or your Bachelor's Program in Business and Economics, you will be awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Science (WU), abbreviated as BSc (WU). ·
Graduates of the Bachelor’s Program in Business Law are awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Laws (WU), abbreviated as LL.B. (WU).
It is not compulsory to indicate your academic degree in your communications, but if you do, we recommend you add “(WU)” to your academic degree.
The successful completion of a bachelor’s program is a prerequisite for admission to a master’s program in Austria or abroad. Click the link for more information on the master’s programs available at WU.
The Diploma Supplement* is a bilingual document (German and English) issued to all WU graduates at graduation in addition to their degree certificate. The Diploma Supplement is issued automatically and free of charge.
The Diploma Supplement facilitates academic and professional recognition of European degrees, thus increasing the transparency of qualifications, and it provides information about the duration and contents of the degree program and about the academic and professional skills acquired by the graduate. In a globalized society and economy, the Diploma Supplement provides an internationally comparable description of the degree program, and encourages mobility, access to education, and life-long learning.
The Diploma Supplement is not a substitute for the original qualification, for a transcript, or for a CV, and it does not guarantee recognition of a degree.
For more information on the Diploma Supplement, please visit the following pages:
* has been available to all graduates since 2006.
In the event of loss or theft of your graduation documents (notification of conferral of an academic degree, degree certificate, diploma supplement), the Examinations Office will issue duplicates of these items free of charge.
Please complete the application for a duplicate and submit it to the Examinations Office by email, together with an official police report of loss or theft.
Please note that the report of loss must have been issued either by the municipal authorities or the police. Duplicates can only be issued for documents specifically named in the report.
It can take up to four weeks for the replacement documents to be issued. You will be notified by email when your documents are available for pick-up. You can pick up the documents during opening hours - by appointment - at the Study Service Center.
Duplicates of graduation documents are issued only in the event of loss or theft. Should you need additional copies for application procedures, official agencies, public institutions, etc., please contact the Examinations Office for information on obtaining certified copies.
