Kurzlebenslauf

Ali Ozkes is a researcher at Institute for Public Management and Governance and an affiliated researcher at Competence Center for Applied AI and Scientific Computing at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. His research interests span topics such as collective decision-making processes, consensus in public and private organizations, ethics of artificial intelligence, human-AI interaction, life sciences and healthcare management, strategic decision-making, organization research methods, research reproducibility, and behavioral social science.

Dr. Ozkes obtained his habilitation from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University on the intersection of social choice theory, AI ethics, and public management, his PhD degree from École Polytechnique in Paris on collective decision-making processes and behavioral analyses, his master’s degree from Istanbul Bilgi University, and his BSc degree from the University of London and London School of Economics and Political Science. He has published in top field journals, received grants for interdisciplinary research projects, and collaborates with colleagues worldwide.

He has held teaching and research positions or visiting fellowships at various international institutions, including Aix-Marseille University, California Institute of Technology, Lund University, Paris-Dauphine University, SKEMA Business School, University of Padua, and Waseda University. He has supervised undergraduate, master’s, and PhD theses, served on master’s and doctoral committees, and overseen student consulting projects. He has been invited to give seminars at leading institutions across Europe, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. He is affiliated with Research Group in Law, Economics and Management at Côte d'Azur University and CNRS, and with Laboratory for the Analyses and Modeling of Decision-Support Systems at Paris-Dauphine University and CNRS. He is also a part-time professor at SKEMA Business School.

Ali has served as an organizer and program committee member for numerous academic conferences and workshops and has participated in hiring committees. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Code and Data at the journal Management Science and is co-editor of a special issue of the journal Theory and Decision. He is a member of various academic associations, including the Academy of Management, the Association for Computing Machinery, the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, the Society for Social Choice and Welfare, and the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Society. He has contributed to the drafting of the Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI Models in relation to the EU AI Act.
