Andrew Isaak, Ph.D.

Andrew Isaak is an Assistant Professor (NTT) at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. His research focuses on digital entrepreneurship, sustainability and venture finance, often from a behavioral perspective. His recent publications and ongoing research investigate the role of entrepreneurs’ personality and investor motivation in crowdfunding, succession in family firms and their partner selection in CVC deals, the role of AI tools in startup development and of reputation and status in motivating online knowledge contributions.

Before joining the E&I Team in 2024, Andrew worked as an Assistant Professor at the Heinrich-Heine University of Düsseldorf and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Solbridge International School of Business in Daejeon, South Korea. He obtained his doctorate from the business school of the University of Mannheim (with a stay as Visiting Scholar at U.C. Berkeley) and holds an MBA degree in International Business from Pace University in New York and a BA in Economics from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. He also has work experience in systems integration and technology consulting for Accenture as well as as a startup founder and supervisory board member.
