In 2002, Professor Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger introduced a new course at the WU: Gender and Diversity in Organizations. Two years later, in 2004, the Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations was founded.

Since then, the interest in the topic never stopped growing, be it in the academic field or in the practices in and of organizations. We certainly have come a long way, but so much more needs to be done.

It all started 20 years ago, and this is what we want to celebrate with
The WU Gender and Diversity Conference in March 2022.

We would like to invite academics as well as practitioners to participate in the discussion between theory and practice. Submissions from PhD students are particularly welcome.

Topics include but are not limited to:

• Intersectional experiences. What have we learnt from these?

• New fields of research in gender and diversity

• Emerging theories

• Evolutions in practice

• Examples of best practice

• Uncovered subjects

• Different aspects of diversity

• Experiences and lessons from the global south

• Current and new challenges

• Diversity and Inclusion through an interdisciplinary lens

• Minorities’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion

• The role of diversity and inclusion in SDGs

• Discrimination and inclusion in the age of digitalization
