Wi-Fi Access

You can use Wi-Fi on your notebook or your smartphone throughout the entire WU campus.

Wi-Fi Connections

At WU, the Wi-Fi networks "eduroam" and "wu-conference" are available. Please connect to the network that is adequate for you.

Changes effective August 26, 2026

Applies to all WU account holders who use the eduroam network with their WU account (list of eduroam partners).

  • Username update: username@wu.ac.at
    Example for students: h+student ID number@wu.ac.at;
    Example for staff: jexample@wu.ac.at

  • Password change: Log in using your WU account password instead of the separate Wi-Fi password.

2) When connecting to the “wu-conference” network, you will be automatically redirected to an authentication page as soon as you select the network from the list of available Wi-Fi networks. Some mobile devices display a system message instead, asking you to enter the provided login data.

Temporary Wi-Fi Access

Entitled WU employees can set up temporary Wi-Fi access for conferences and guests at WU by using the Controlpanel application. For details, please refer to the Instructions on Account Management (pdf).
