DET Workshop - ONLINE

DET Workshop - ONLINE on TRANSFORMING TAX SYSTEMS WITH BLOCKCHAIN organized by Revenu Québec and the Digital Economy Taxation Network

June 15, 2021

  • From 14:30 to 17:30 CET (Central European time)

  • From 8:30 a.m. to noon EST (Eastern Time - Québec)

Digital Economy Taxation Network (DET) is now a well-established forum, with high – level conferences already organized in Vienna, Geneva, Singapore, China and the United States. The annual conferences are a useful way to take an overall assessment of where the international community stands on digital tax transformation.

To support these high-level conferences, DET has launched a series of workshops on VAT, Transfer Pricing, AI and Tax Compliance, the collaborative economy and international issues. Each issue has a dedicated research team drawn from the DET Network, which undertakes policy relevant research, feeding into the current international debate.

This workshop, which will be virtual, will focus on how blockchain can be used in conjunction with other technologies to improve tax compliance.

The leading blockchain proponent Don Tapscott will be on hand to give the opening address.

Representatives from government, academia and private sector (regional and international) share their expertise, supplemented by real-life examples of how governments have used blockchain technology in countering illicit financial flows and improving tax compliance.

Please see below for the preliminary agenda.

There is no fee for participation in the event. Please follow this link to register by June 11, 2021.
