Continuous assessment course (PI)

Continuous assessment courses (PI) are courses with compulsory attendance. Your active participation is particularly important here, as the grade is made up of several performance components that you complete during the course.

For PI-type courses:

  • Attendance requirement

  • At least 3 performance components are used for the assessment.

  • Typical performance components include homework, proposals, project reports, seminar papers, presentations, mid-term and final examinations and/or participation.

  • The overall grade in a PI-type course results from the individual performance components, which are weighted differently and together form the final grade.

  • If a performance component (on its own) is decisive for a positive assessment, you can make up for it if there is a valid reason (e.g. illness with a medical certificate).

  • As soon as you have completed a performance component, the course must be assessed.

Please inform yourself carefully before the start of the course in the course catalog, where you will find all details on the attendance requirement, the performance components, their weighting and grading.
