Background

Matin is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Production Management, Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). He holds a PhD in Management from the University of Padua, Italy, and an MSc in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. Before joining WU Vienna, he held positions at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Department of Operations Management at the University of Stuttgart. His research sits at the intersection of operations management and sustainability, with a particular focus on how firms integrate sustainability practices— including ESG— into their operations strategies. 

Matin has taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses covering the fundamentals of operations and supply chain management, including Operations Strategy, Smart Manufacturing, Supply Chain Dynamics, and most recently Operational Excellence for Sustainable Organizations.
