Impact analysis scaling Grow Together

The nonprofit association Grow Together has been selected as a funding project under the call "Effective Growth: Scaling Projects Against Child and Youth Poverty" by the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care, and Consumer Protection. The NPO Competence Center has been chosen and commissioned as the evaluation partner for this call.

The goal of the project is to develop evaluated scaling concepts (official Grow Together partnerships) that will serve as a kind of "template" for the supported establishment of new locations. These locations will operate autonomously in their business structure and in the financing of activities on-site. They will receive ongoing content-related and administrative support from the "Grow Together Headquarters," especially during the establishment phase. A quality management system will be collaboratively developed and implemented. This will allow for the creation of independent locations that can adapt the proven methodology of Grow Together to political and demographic conditions, making it accessible to as many families as possible in order to combat child poverty.

The target group consists of individuals in manifest poverty who are already in a very difficult life situation during pregnancy (e.g., experiences of violence, trauma, addiction issues, mental or psychiatric illnesses), as well as children who, even before birth, benefit from direct work with their parents through the establishment of secure attachments and appropriate care.

Based on the impact logic of Grow Together's scaling, the NPO Competence Center will assess and analyze the effects of the scaling measures on the organizational capacity of the partner organizations, rather than re-evaluating the effects on the beneficiary groups. Methodologically, the data required for the impact analysis will be collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and the gathering of quantitative information via direct inquiries with the partner organizations. Additionally, the existing conditions at the partner organizations and the planned locations will be assessed and analyzed to better evaluate the activities and their success. This will be done through secondary data analysis and qualitative semi-structured interviews.
