WU employees and students can borrow various portable devices for courses or events at WU campus free of charge. Equipment can be reserved online (login with WU account required).
In certain cases, WU employees can also receive loaner equipment from our loaner pool free of charge. For further information, please see Workplace computer and Notebook on the intranet.

All event and teaching rooms at WU are equiped with basic media technology:
Equipment without reservation
At the IT Service Desk in the TC (show location), we lend the following equipment* for registered courses and events.
*Availability depending on the number of items in stock
Microphones (neckworn microphones are standard)
Various cables and adapters
"Starter-Kit" (=Smart Board pen + sponge, whiteboard marker, magnets)
Reserve loaner equipment
Please choose the borrowing period carefully so that there is enough time for setup and transit. Reserving equipment for periods longer than the originally agreed rental time is not allowed.
To create a reservation, log in with your WU account.
If the reservation form is not displayed, activate a VPN connection first. Then access the form again.
Picking up and returning of devices
You can pick up and return reserved devices at the following locations:
in person at the IT Service Desk in the Teaching Center (location, opening hours)
contactless at the WU Pickup Station in the Teaching Center (location, building opening hours)
Please select one option when creating your reservation. Use it for picking up as well as returning the loaner equipment.

Users cannot install any additonal software.
The NEC projector (model P451W) is a very bright and compact widescreen projector that is recommended for screens up to 140 inches (3.56 m) in size. It is best suited for medium to large sized rooms. Thanks to its compact design, large optical zoom (1.7x), vertical lens shift, and vertical and horizontal keystone correction, the projector can be flexibly integrated into any room.
Mobile speaker from BOSE (model SoundLink Bluetooth speaker III) which is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The SoundLink has a simple handling and can be connected via AUX cable or Bluetooth with various end devices (smartphones / tablets / notebooks / PCs).
The document camera from Epson (model ELPDC20) is particularly suitable for the presentation of handwritten or printed documents. The document cameras are equipped with HDMI cable. The devices are primarily used to support the course and project the image as an external signal source via the installed media technology.
Logitech conference cam
Interactive pivoting camera from Logitech (model ConferenceCam Connect) which is suitable for video conferences. It has a remote control for easier operation and can be connected to other end devices via Bluetooth, USB or HDMI.
The wired USB headset from Logitech (model H570E) is issued for conferences only. The headsets are certified for Skype for Business and compatible for most common services from like Zoom, MS Teams, etc. Noise and encounter suppression also make them suitable for use in louder noise environments.
Please note: The headset requires a USB-A connection. The cable connection to the notebook or PC forces users to stay close to the computer.
Wacom One tablet
The Wacom One (Interactive Pen Display 13.3 inch) comes with a display to mirror content from your PC or notebook. You can use the tablet to create sketches, calculations, drawings, and explanations on a digital whiteboard page or in specific documents during distance learning.
Quickguide (setup & troubleshooting)
The tablet replaces the monitor or SMART Board in the lecture rooms when teaching from home or your workplace on campus. Use the included stylus to write and draw on the surface and operate programs and files. If you share these actions with your students via MS Teams or Zoom, the students can follow calculations, sketches, etc. in real-time.
Tip: Ask for adapter cables during the reservation process if your computer does not have an HDMI port (e.g. Displayport or mini Displayport or USB-C ).
The SMART Notebook software functions as the digital whiteboard in lectures at WU Vienna. On your workplace computer you can install the software from the Software Center. To install SMART Notebook on your personal computer, visit the intranet page Software for private devices. Where can I use loaner equipment?
Loaner equipment is only to be used for courses or events approved by Campus Management. All usage for private purposes is prohibited.
Who can make reservations for loaner equipment?
Borrowing loaner equipment for courses is provided for WU students and employees only. Event organizers contact email@example.com to request presentation equipment and get details about available media technology.
Where can I get pens for courses?
Smartboard and whiteboard pens as well as magnets are available as "starter kits" and can be borrowed (free of charge) and returned at the IT Service Desk (show location) in the Teaching Center. Please mind our opening hours.
Teaching material supply rooms
Teachers and course instructors can also get teaching materials in designated supply rooms on campus (access with personal key tag or key card).
