We are delighted to congratulate Wogene Mena Berhanu on successfully defending his PhD dissertation “Made in Ethiopia, but at Whose Expense? Examining Labor Regimes in the Apparel and Textile Industries in Ethiopia” on June 20th. His research offers important insights into how labor regimes in Ethiopia’s textile and garment industries are shaped by local, national, and global dynamics, and highlights the role of labor agency—especially through the lens of gender and migration—in confronting exploitative conditions. Wogene will be on parental leave for the time being but remains a valued member of our team. Congratulations, Dr. Berhanu!
