The Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organisations is pleased to co-organise the online workshop “(Un)social capital: Reassessing the concept of social capital in turbulent times”, taking place on June 29, 2026. The workshop is jointly organised with the Social Capital Working Group of the International Initiative for Promoting Political Economy and the Regional Development Institute of Panteion University.

Bringing together scholars from across the social sciences, the workshop invites contributions that critically explore the changing meanings and roles of social capital in times marked by crisis, inequality, and social transformation. It offers a space for discussion on how social capital can both reinforce exclusion and power — and serve as a resource for solidarity, justice, and democratic participation.

The workshop will be held online and free of charge, and we especially welcome contributions from young scholars. Abstracts of up to 500 words can be submitted until April 30, 2026.
