The conference was held from September 20 to 21, 2012, in Vienna, Austria.

The Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) (Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Lang, Prof. Dr. Josef Schuch, Prof. Dr. Claus Staringer, Prof. Dr. Pasquale Pistone and Prof. Dr. Alfred Storck) and Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance ( Dr. Maria Fekter, Dkfm. Eduard Müller ) in co-operation with the Faculty of Psychology, University of Vienna ( Prof. Erich Kirchler) and the INTR (International Network for Tax Research of OECD) organised a conference on the topic of "Tax Governance- The future role of tax administration in a networking society".

This cross- disciplinary conference was held for the first time and enabled experts from the fields of economics, law and psychology to join forces and analyse the topics "Good Public Governance and Tax Compliance" from various and diverse perspectives.

Researchers, government representatives and practitioners discussed current problems in the fields of Tax Crime and Sanctions, Tax Evasions and Aggressive Tax Planning, Enhanced Relationship and Voluntary Compliance.
