Lukas Bauer

Lukas joined the Institute for Responsibility and Sustainability in Global Businessas a Teaching and Research Associate in October 2025. He holds an MSc in International Management (CEMS) from WU Vienna and Aalto University in Helsinki, as well as a BSc in International Management from Munich. Alongside his work at the institute, he is currently pursuing an MA in Philosophy and Economics at the University of Vienna and has completed several extracurricular courses in practical philosophy, ethics, and the philosophy of economics at the University of Vienna, WU, and the University of Helsinki.

Before joining the institute, Lukas gained professional experience at a German boutique consulting firm specializing in sustainability reporting and strategy, strategic initiatives, and customer-centric marketing and sales organizations, where he worked for about three years in various roles, including assistant consultant. He also previously worked as a tutor at the institute for one semester.

Research

Lukas’s research combines perspectives from management and business ethics. He is interested in the interplay between organizational psychology, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and behavioral ethics. His work focuses on phenomena in and around morally stigmatized industries, including the moral evaluation and judgment of firms and industries, moral awareness and decision-making within these contexts, and the implications of these dynamics for organizational outcomes.
