Strengthening Inner Capacities for Sustainable Change

The “Inner Development Goals (IDGs)” framework provides practical approaches and reflective tools to foster self-awareness, resilience, collaboration and transformative leadership. The workshop introduces participants to the five dimensions of the IDGs and explores how inner capacities can support organizations and individuals in addressing societal and organizational challenges in a sustainable and values-based way.

Background of the Workshop

In recent years, increasing attention has been given to the importance of inner skills and personal development in achieving sustainable societal transformation. While many organizations focus primarily on external goals and structures, the Inner Development Goals framework emphasizes the human qualities, mindsets and competencies needed to successfully navigate complexity, uncertainty and change.

This workshop offers an interactive and reflective space for participants to explore the IDGs in practice. Through exchange, self-reflection and collaborative learning, participants will gain insights into how inner development can strengthen communication, resilience, leadership and cooperation within organizations and networks.

Goal of the Workshop

The goal of this workshop is to provide participants with a practical introduction to the Inner Development Goals framework and to support them in developing capacities that foster sustainable collaboration, personal growth and resilient leadership.

Participants will explore how competencies such as self-awareness, empathy, openness, critical thinking and relationship-building can contribute to healthier organizational cultures and more effective cooperation. The workshop also encourages participants to reflect on how inner development can support positive societal transformation and strengthen value-based action in everyday professional life.

After the Workshop

After completing the workshop, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the Inner Development Goals framework and its relevance for organizations and civil society initiatives. They will be familiar with practical methods and reflective approaches that can support personal resilience, collaborative processes and transformative leadership.

Participants will be able to apply selected IDG practices within their professional context and integrate inner development perspectives into teamwork, communication and organizational culture. The workshop thereby contributes to strengthening sustainable, human-centered and future-oriented collaboration within organizations and networks.
