Research within the label is interdisciplinary with a strong link to applications in economics, finance and business. Our scientific work covers the entire "mathematical production chain", ranging from model building and theoretical mathematical analysis to numerical implementation and statistical estimation of models.
Graduates have many opportunities. Potential employers include scientific institutions and public and private sector companies using mathematical and statistical tools such as regulators, financial institutions, consultancies or logistics and production companies.
Students within the label are in general predocs at WU and hence fully funded (but there are some teaching duties).
There is an interesting study program with courses and research seminars in statistics, computing, stochastic processes, financial mathematics, optimization, operations research, management science and economics. Moreover students will do independent research in a vibrant environment.
