About me

Dewa Gede Sidan Raeskyesa is a Teaching and Research Associate at the Department of Socioeconomics and a member of the Institute for International Political Economy, Vienna University of Economics and Business. He holds an MSc in International Economics from Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz and graduated from the Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Germany. His main research interests lie in globalization and development issues such as foreign direct investment and inequality.

Before joining the institute in May 2022, he gained experience in research and teaching activities by working as an economics lecturer in Indonesia. Also, he participated in a research project on special economic zones and inequality at the Kiel Center for Globalization. Afterward, he worked as a Foreign Direct Investment Consultant, helping several international organizations and governments design a strategy to attract FDI and choose the best location for their investment decision.

Apart from research and teaching activities, he enjoys long-distance running.
