The Austrian province of Burgenland, which is Austria´s youngest province, is famous for its wineyards and wine but also for its beautiful landscape. The Lake Neusiedl area is a unique ecosystem within Austria in which plant and animal species from Alpine Pannonian, Asian, Mediterranean and Nordic climatic zones can be found. Especially during the summer Rust has become a highly frequented village at Lake Neusiedl, well know for its cosy taverns, friendly people and picturesque surroundings.
The great landscape of Rust provides an amazing environment for the scientific conferences the institute holds at the beginning of July. Every year we focus on another interesting topic.
