Background

Christoph G. Schmidt is Professor of Business Administration and Information Systems with an emphasis on the interface between Operations Management and Digital Transformation at WU Vienna. Prior to joining WU, he was an Associate Professor at the University of Bath School of Management and a Senior Researcher at ETH Zurich. His teaching covers operations and supply chain management, with a particular emphasis on digital transformation, supply chain risk and resilience, and the opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies.

His research focuses on digital transformation in operations and supply chain management and, in particular, on how emerging digital technologies create new opportunities and challenges for organizations and supply chains. Christoph has published his work in journals including the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics, and others. He currently also serves as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management.
