Virtual Bachelor Course „Zukunftsfähiges Wirtschaften“

27/05/2020

From May 4 – 7 2020, the Institute for Managing Sustainability successfully trained 120 Bachelor students with a cross-disciplinary facilitators-team coming from industry, radio, design thinking and academia. That which usually takes place face-to-face during an over-night event in a seminar hotel close to Vienna was now transferred to a virtual room, which was met with great success, as many students stated their satisfaction after the interactive online course.

The students were engaged in various group settings and benefitted from a high method mix: from mapping techniques, video analysis, comedy script writing to pecha kucha pitches and design thinking tools.

Technically, the sessions were facilitated by the conference tool GoToMeeting and the collaboration tools Mural and Klaxoon. OneDrive was used for uploading the students’ completed assignments.

What our students said:

  • “By far the most creative and diversified lecture since the Lock Down.”

  • “So many interesting and new methods.”

  • “What an instructive and enjoyable day – thank you!”

  • “Cool online tools, exciting methods.”

  • “How quickly the day passed by – it was never boring.”

  • “Virtual collaboration worked much better than expected.”

  • “Virtual brainstorming leads to really good ideas.”

  • “Courses over several days can work – if they are well prepared.”

  • “Smart distance teaching allows for group work.”
