SROI Analysis of the Social Impact of the Project LernLEO

Logo of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Vienna

The NPO Competence Center is conducting a study to demonstrate the social added value of intensive learning support programmes using the example of a specific learning programme. As the study object and practice partner, the effects of LernLEO, a programme of the Samariterbund Vienna, are to be analysed. Within the framework of LernLEO, children and adolescents are intensively cared for in small groups twice a week and supported in their everyday life with homework assistance, needs-oriented learning assistance, leisure activities and other things. The SROI analysis of the LernLEO programme aims to answer the question of what social impacts such a free and intensively designed learning and care programme outside of school hours has on various stakeholders. Methodologically, the first step is to develop an impact model in which the impact chains of all those affected are mapped. Then, it is necessary to find out, by means of qualitative interviews, to what extent presumed impacts have occurred or could occur. After quantifying and monetising the identified intended and non-intended impacts, the SROI value is determined at the end of this SROI analysis. The invested costs are set against the monetised impacts. The results have the potential to help learning support programmes as well as their (funding) partners to show what social added value they generate.
