The Austrian NPO Governance Codex can be described as a recommendation for the management and supervision of a nonprofit organization (NPO). It combines regulations and practices that are seen as good practice from a legal point of view and from the perspective of responsible management. The aim of this project is to facilitate the drafting of articles of association, statutes, rules of procedure and other legally relevant documents for Austrian organizations in the nonprofit sector. The recommendations are intended to provide the basis for any further organizational developments and adaptations and to enable an NPOs organs to clearly identify which tasks they should take over and which rules should be followed.

The Codex was drawn up between May 2012 and September 2013 by lawyers and business economists from WU and consultants from Contrast Management Consulting.

As the Codex provides very specific information suitable for Austrian law and regulations, it only available in German.
