Personal Details

Sara Hoxha is a Researcher (prae-doc) at the Research Institute Economics of Inequality (INEQ), where she works on the Rent Sharing Inequality and Wage Differentials (RentINEQ) project led by Emanuel List. Her research interests lie in labour economics, inequality, and the economics of crime. A recurring theme in her work is justice, understood as the distribution of economic opportunity and constraint.

She holds an MSc in Economics (Applied Track) from WU Vienna. Her thesis examined occupational sorting and labour market outcomes following the US Supreme Court's Bostock v. Clayton County ruling, which extended federal employment protections, with a research focus on differences by sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship status. She previously completed a BA in Economics in Tirana, with a thesis on the socioeconomic determinants of homicide in Albania following the collapse of the pyramid schemes, which led to the civil unrest of 1997.
