Personal details

Franziska Disslbacher is an Economist and Assistant Professor at the Department Socioeconomics and at the Research Institute Economics. Previously, she worked as Postdoctoral researcher at the University Roma Tre and she held several visiting positions, for instance at the University of California, Berkeley and the Luxembourg Institute on Socio-Economic Research. For her dissertation on income inequality, completed in 2022, Franziska received several national and international awards and honors. Her current research interest centers on the distribution and taxation of income, wealth, and inheritances as well as intergenerational social mobility. She is particularly interested in fostering our understanding of how social, economic, and political institutions and mechanisms link inequalities in opportunities to inequalities in outcomes. At INEQ, she is Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the project “MOBILITY-PATH: Multidimensional Intergenerational Mobility and Pathways to Upward Mobility“. Franziska is also a Visiting Research Fellow with the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics and Research Affiliate of the Stone-Center on Socio-Economic Inequality at the City University New York.
