Code of Conduct for IMM Students

IMM seeks to maintain an environment that promotes academic achievement and integrity. In turn, we expect our students to be honest and obey certain rules of behavior with regard to IMM faculty, staff and fellow students:

 

 

Faculty, staff and fellow students:
  • Be friendly and courteous in your communications.

  • Respect the views of others, especially of people from other cultures.

  • Support the group Spirit.

  • Adopt a diligent and cooperative approach to all aspects of academic life.

  • Be present and on time in class.

  • Hand in assignments on time.

  • Treat others fairly when giving feedback and assessing their achievements.

     

Academic dishonesty:

Academic dishonesty is any conduct that involves dishonesty in academic work or that enables a student to obtain an unfair advantage in academic matters. Academic dishonesty includes but is not limited to:

  • Cheating: intentionally using or attempting to use unauthorized materials, assistance, information or study aids in any academic exercise.

  • Fabrication: intentional and unauthorized falsification or invention of any information or citation in an academic exercise.

  • Plagiarism: intentionally or knowingly representing the work, words or ideas of someone else as one's own in any academic exercise. Please read carefully the guidelines for handling plagiarism (download).

  • Lying: intentionally giving false information to or intentionally misleading anyone in connection with any academic matter.

  • Facilitating academic dishonesty: intentionally or knowingly helping or attempting to help anyone to violate any provision of this code or obstructing an investigation into code violations.
