Jan Fell successfully defended his doctoral dissertation

25/07/2022

Today Jan Fell successfully defended his doctoral dissertation.

The committee consisted of his advisor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Peter Keinz (also with the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation), and Prof. Dr. Silke Paulmann, head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Essex.

During his time as a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Jan conducted research on the role of the human voice in entrepreneurship. He is specifically interested in the many perceptions elicited by the voice, the information that can be  obtained from the voice, and the resultant effects and implications for entrepreneurship settings such as investor pitches, venture capital negotiations, or team formations. Parts of his dissertation research informed a conference paper accepted for the "Best Paper" proceedings of the 2022 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA (https://doi.org/10.5465/AMBPP.2022.34).

After his graduation, Jan will remain with the Institute as an adjunct post-doctoral researcher.
